SRT Brakes

Just got my SRT last month. Love the car but the brakes are driving me crazy. Very noisy and dusty. I am assuming these are metallic pads. Can anyone confirm that. The dealer never did but said he could order ceramic pads for it. Just want to make sure.

RE: SRT Brakes

I'd say you've treated your brakes too gently to date. My '07 Magnum SRT8 has the slotted rotors and the dusty brake pads. But I "bedded" the brakes to ensure proper performance within the first 100 miles.

See this excellent info on how to do this (at any time): http://www.zeckhausen.com/bedding_in_brakes.htm

I have had no squeeks in the first 800 miles. However, I am replacing the dusty pads with Centric Posi-Quiet Semi-Metallic pads, which reportedly create very little dust with similar stopping performance.

See this link on the Zeckhausen website: http://www.zeckhausen.com/Chrysler/300C_SRT8.htm
