SRT8 engine Question
 

Hi this is my first post here in the forum..

i am considering a chrysler SRT8 as my new ride, and am looking for some info about it

[-] as the salesman in our local showroom told me, the 6.1L HEMI has the Multi-displacement system (MDS)!!! like the 5.7L..... IS THAT TRUE?????

[-] if any1 of u guys owns the SRT8 can u please tell me the average milage you get per full tank

This is my first post in this forum as well.

I own a 300C SRT8. This car DOES NOT have the multi-displacement technology. I average between 15 and 16 MPG in my car, but I do drive very aggressively.

Hello,

Same here.

Currently choosing between 5,7 and SRT8. My question for those who already have an experience with either one. What would I regret the most choosing: a) SRT8 for it´s gas milage; or b) Hemi 5,7 couse it´s slight torque/handling/other... ???

Comparing, there are remarkable diference:
MPG (city) MPG (hwy)
srt - 14 20
5,7 - 17 25

BTW, even BMW 760i with 6,0l V12 engine gets better results than SRT...

The trade off from the 300 C to the SRT8 is more than gas mileage!
A- Handling
B- Braking
C- Performance
D- I can go on!

I sell these vehicles and it males me sad when sales people dont know what they are saying!

The SRT8 is no joke on gas, but if saving gas is your concern, get a Toyota Camry. Don't waste your money on a 300C if its not a HEMI. The Camry is a decent sized car and has great gas mileage. As for the BMW, yes it has better results, and an increased price tag.

Look at the difference in style between the srt8 and regular 300c. That alone should be enough reason. A fully loaded 300c is about $37k. You can get the fully loaded SRT8 for just over $40k.
