RE: vibration while turning steering
Hello,
I joined just so I could input on this problem. I had the exact same thing in my Magnum RT AWD. There is a TSB out for the Magnum, but I just looked and did not find one for the 300. Dodge calls it "crowhopping" and it is a hard vibration making slow turns, especially at parking speeds, and it is only in the AWD. At first mine did it only in the morning, after driving 10 miles, it did not do it. It got worse and worse until it did it all the time. My dealer replaced the transfer case and problem is gone. The TSB says the vent tube is misrouted, allowing water in. The new case has the vent tube in a protected place so water can no longer get in. Hope this helps. Here are the details for the Magnum TSB: 2005 Dodge Magnum Bulletin #: 04023 Sequence #: 10010565 Date: 10/08/2004 Component Name: 104000 power train:transfer case (4-wheel drive) Make: Dodge Model: Magnum Year: 2005 Summary: Transfer case vent hose improperly routed which could result in water entering the transfer case and cause driveline shudder (crow hopping) during parking lot maneuvers. rapid response transmittal #04-023. *tt |
