What is the magic manuver to get the Pcv valve out.
I feel like I am going to break something

I tried it by hand until giving up and turning it with a pair of pliers. Turn it counterclockwise about a quarter of a turn and pull. I replaced mine at 88k miles, and had to use quite a bit of force (more than I expected) to get it to turn.

Make sure you put a little oil on the gaskets of the new one before installing it.

 

I had to use pliers the first time to turn it.
