Aspen 2nd row Captain Chair adjustment idea

Has anyone come up with a solution to make the 2nd row seats adjust fore and aft? Seems a track of some type could be added to give this flexibility? I am considering purchasing an '07 but concerned about lack of rear seat legroom. I love the look and feature set on the Aspen and would love to take the plunge. My 2006 T&C has stow n go but still offers adjustment on the seats. Seems that an adjustment track would be an easy aftermarket item.

Not owning the vehicle yet I am only guessing that this might work. Any input, thoughts or solutions on this?

I think the design and implementation would be expensive, if you were able to do it at all. The engineers decided to have the seats tumble forward for access to the 3rd row, and this is at the expense of a slider to adjust seat position. On the plus side, the hardware is very durable, and the seats are extremely stable when locked in.

Agreed that this would be nice. Installing a rear-facing child seat in the 2nd row of an Aspen/Durango requires the front seat to be pushed up too far.

flip and tumble vs slider

Thanks for the response. No baby seats anymore in this house. How do you find the back seats for Adults?

The 2nd row is no problem -- very comfortable. The 3rd row is better for children IMO, but there's enough room back there if you're not especially tall/leggy.

2nd row adjustment

Yes, I bought the Aspen...it has been wonderful put about 5K on it so far. I have NOT looked at making an alteration on the seats. I have the 2nd row captain chairs.

I have hauled 5 adults comfortably for about a 3 hour ride with no complaints. However for a cross country trip...Florida vacation from Wisconsin etc...it would be nice to adjust the seats back when only using the second row to stretch out adult legs.

If I do something I will check back in.
