Aspen block heater cord temp sensor?
Hi,
Does anyone know if the block heater cord on the 2007 Aspen has a temperature sensor on it? I live in northern Canada and really need it to work. I've owned GM up until now and they have a sensor on the end of the cord that keeps the heater from working until 0°F (-18°C). The Aspen block heater cord has a small rectangular rubber chunk on about 5" from where it plugs into the block that may contain a sensor. Pulled it off and plugged it in and it shows 120 volts (at room temp)so guessing sensor isn't present. Can't hear a hissing noise so not sure if it's even working. Any help would be great. Thanks. |
Figured it out myself and for the record there is no temperature sensor on these units. I plugged it in and crawled under the vehicle with the engine cold. I could feel the heat coming off the block heater housing no problem.:)
