dealership replaced fuel filler neck then pump went out
Hi I have a 2007 Aspen 5.7 hemi with 138k miles. The dealership replaced the recalled fuel filler neck approx. 3 weeks ago/ 2,000 miles ago. Within 1,000 miles the gas cap light and engine light went on. I continued to drive it as no time to do anything about it and it just broke down. We ran a code reader it showed p0455 Evap System Large Leak Detected and p0456 - Missing or loose fuel cap
- Incorrect fuel filler cap used - Fuel filler cap remains open or fails to close - Foreign matter caught in fuel filler cap - Evaporative Emission (EVAP) canister or fuel tank leaks - Evaporative Emission (EVAP) system hose leaking - Fuel tank leaking Then we cleared the codes trying to get it to start it wouldn't, so towed back to the dealership and they are saying $700 for a new fuel pump plus labor and that it is unrelated to the fuel filler neck replacement 3 weeks ago. I'm super suspicious of this, as they wrecked my transmission a few years ago after doing a fluid change kept it for a month and had to rebuild it at their expense. Any advice on whether or not this sounds related to the fuel filler neck replacement is appreciated. |
