Full size spare tire

Another new owner question. I have the Limited with the 20" chrome clad wheels. Did your spare tire on a matching chrome clad wheel or the standard black rim?

Don't know, never had an issue. My guess is that the wheel is black.

I have the 20" my spare is an 18" hopefully the OD is the same otherwise will have a problem with the differential ratios, anyone know if they are the same OD, because on a AWD your aren't allowed to change tire sizes, and was wondering how long the spare could be used safely.

Just checked my spare tire size. It's 245-70R-17 with a black rim and the tires on the chrome rims are 265-50R-20. Will the different tire sizes be a problem if I ever need the spare?

You just need to check the actual diameter of the wheel and tire to see if they are approximately the same. That is the potential issue with different size wheels and tires.

I don't think the ESP system will work unless the diameters are very close to each other.
