Idling Problems

I have 3300 miles on my 2007 Aspen. When I reached approx. 900 miles I began noticingrough vibrations when braking at red lights. It started out happeninginfrequently, but now it's all the time. I took it to the shop several times to have the idling system checked and they told me that it was designed like this. Has anyoneelse experienced this problem?

We have just over 10,000 miles on ours and no issues of any kind. Try another dealer and try another brand of gasoline.

I tried changing the gas (started using 93)and still no change. I was told by the service tech that "all the Aspens/Durangos were designed to idle at 500 rpm which makes a rough ride while waiting at lights." I justwanted to get some feedback from other owners; as I can see "everybody" is not having this problem.

Our Aspen is gone this weekend, but when it gets home I will check the idle speed at a traffic light, I think it is about 600-625 rpm. Will let you know, but it is very smooth at idle.

Just got the Aspen back to check RPM. Idles between 600-625 with A/C on, transmission in drive and stopped at traffic light.
Very smooth idle, no issues at all.

RE: Idling Problems

What is your rpm at traffic lights without the AC on? I was informed that the rpm would increase if theACis on. Riding around with the AC on iswhat they suggested that I do if I wanted to stop the car from shaking. So if you stop at a light with the AC on you should notexperience a problem. However,if you turn the AC off and you stop at a light the rpm would decrease to500rpm and you would experience a rough idle.

My rpm at traffic stops without the AC on is 500 rpm.

I will be out in about an hour and will try with A/C turned off.
