New CEL - Looking for advice P3449
Hey guys,
5.7L Hemi 2007 Looks like another code popped up, I was hoping I was done with fixing codes. I've done a few searches, but havent come up with anything concrete. Can anyone point me in the right direction? I believe MDS Cyl 7 Solenoid needs to be replaced but have no idea where it is or how it looks. Where can I buy this part, not showing any DIY's either. Hope someone can help! pictures, P/N, anything  |
Calling Coyote - I believe you had this problem, but with Cyl 6.
Can you confirm this is the part to change. 53032152AD 15951 - Any advice on the procedure? TY Which one controls Cyl 7? Top right? http://up.lx-club.com/files/1777.jpg |
Third post, relevant.

Here is where I am. Here is the one I changed (what a pain in the ass)
http://s15.postimg.org/4ehu7yit7/201...51_resized.jpg and another shot of the action. Should I go to the dealer and pick up the coil as well for No 7 and plug? ChryslerTec, any more advise on what I should do? Would hate to put it back together and still have issues. http://s15.postimg.org/jknvyw8u3/201...37_resized.jpg |
So here is what I did, I went to the dealer and picked up the coil pack as well as two spark plugs.
1 Changed far right solenoid (Drivers rear) 2 Changed #7 Spark plugs (Two) 3 Changed #7 Coil Pack Turned on the truck and tried to clear the code. It is not disappearing. Is anyone 100% sure or can anyone confirm I changed the right solenoid? Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.:( |
Well, guess I spoke too soon. Went to the store this afternoon (a bit cooler than it has been) and I got the dreaded check engine light again. Checked the code and the P3441 has returned. Seems like the cooler weather affects it more quickly. So I guess it's back to replacing the solenoid.
The drivers rear cylinder is #7. So you are working on the correct one. If by replacing the solenoid, coil and plugs has not resolved that, than I'm gonna say you have a bad wire issue somewhere. That's not going to be fun to find. The fact that you can't even clear the code concerns me. I can at least clear it and it randomly comes back later. Hate to say it, but you may need to have a dealer diagnose it. :( |

Yeah. I hope it's not the PCM for either of us. That would be costly. I'll probably be taking mine back to the dealer to have them replace the solenoid if the code comes back again. Sure it will, but I've got too much going on right now to be down without the truck again so it will probably be a bit.
