Rear power liftgate switch
Has anyone thought about putting a liftgate switch on the back of the truck. I've seen some suv's out there that have one in front like the overhead console and one in the rear, so i was dissapointed when I noticed that the aspen didn't have one. But thats no biggie I bought the oem power liftgate switch from chrysler that goes upfront and wired it up in the rear and works flawless. I'll take some pics tonight. Now i dont need to look for my keys or go all the way up front to hit the button.

I'm definitely interested in seeing this. It was an obvious oversight on Chrysler's part not to include this as original equipment.

here are the pics sorry it took to long. The switch is before I cleaned it up real good and I also put an extra LED light in the back for more lighting and added some screens for the kids. Enjoy

Thats looks real nice, theres an idea I might steal.

What kind of screens are those? Do they use the factory VES? Do they mount into the stock headrests, or are they aftermarket headrests?
|
I forgot the brand but they are aftermarket. Those are the kind that already come inside some headrest so all you have to do is remove your original headrest and replace it with those along with wiring them up. I paid 350 for that and installation with wireless headphones pluse a modulator to where i turn the station to 89.1FM and it will play on all speakers in the car.

Thanks for the info.
What's the purpose of the rear switch? Do you generally need to open the rear door from the inside frequently? I like not being able to open it, if the kids or the dogs are back there. |

You'll notice if you try to push the button when the car isn't in park, nothing will happen. This would also be the case for the rear button, if it actually existed. |
Took the words right out of my mouth. But that's one of the main reasons why
I did it because after loading groceries with the keys in my pocket and the switch All the way the front its inconvenient. So this way when I'm done just hit the switch and by The time I made it to the driver door the door has been closed and ready to go |
