Removing rotor on Aspen 07

My left rear started to grind so I went to replace the pads and the rotor, but I could not get the rotor off. The rotor was hitting the caliper adapter/housing. Is there any trick to getting the rotor off without removing the caliper housing?

Also what was strange was the outward pad was completely gone, but he inward pad was in pretty good shape. Has any one run in to this problem?

nope if u want to remove the rotor the caliper holder needs to come off.

Check the caliper pins. If they're not corroded, then clean them and reinstall with brake lubricant.
