Running out of gas

Has anyone ran out of gas? By accident of on purpose?

On all my previous vehicles, I would run out of gas to check the fuel gauge accuracy, distance from empty mark to stopping, and tank total capacity.

I just happened to have five gallons of gas with me. How lucky can I be?

Do not know how Aspen will react to being ran dry with the electronics that are installed.

Does anyone know if any harm will be done by running out of gas?

Other than the very real risk of causing an accident..LOL
Not running super low for many times(invites condensation in the tank) and risking over heating the fuel pump(reduced service life), NO it should not harm anything. Just prime the system by turning the key to the run position a few times to energize the fuel pump, give it a short crank(if it doesn't start right up repeat process).
