Third row mat
Just climbed in the third row of my 2008 Aspen and realized there is no floor covering.Did anyone else's Aspen come with a third row mat?
Getting ready to install or I should say, my husband is getting ready to install a Chrome Mopar Bug Shield for me. Will post pic when it's done. Ciao for now |

RE: Third row mat
The bug shield is on. It took about an hour. It looks great! I thought deciding where to mark the brackets was a little tricky, holding it on and trying to decide how far in or out was kind of a crap shoot. The instructions gave no help or hints, illustrations only no written instructions. We had to redrill one hole on the left, because afterwe put it on and closed the hood the left side wouldn'tclosed flush. We pulled the bracket out a little and redrilled. I am happy with the end result though.

Really sharp addittion ! Adds to the CLASS of the Aspen. Thanks for posting.

RE: Third row mat
My Aspen didn't come with the 3rd row matt either. I asked the dealer and was told that it wasn't available.
Chrome bug deflector looks pretty smart! Does the deflector rub on the grill in the closed position, or is there enough room for the deflector to ride clear without touching? I have seen so many deflectors like this on other vehicles that they are just simply too close to the grilland create undesired rub marks. |
RE: Third row mat
bug shield lookin good, thanks for the photo.

mckenna bug shield
dont think bug shield will work on my aspen one of the holes is right where the hood rod hole is located, how did yours match up when you installed it.
|
RE: mckenna bug shield
We had to take the rod out to install, which means someone has to hold the hood up while you are drilling. The bracket was not over the hood rod hole in our case, but did get in the way of the rod when installing. I will take a picture of that bracket and post it. Maybe that will help.

RE: Third row mat
I purchased my 2008 Aspen a few months ago. So far, so good. It replaced our 2001 Dodge Durango SLT which had been a great vehicle for us. After I get a new vehicle I head straight to the dealer parts department for an accessories brochure/catalog and quickly pick all the add-ons I would like to have. My list for the Aspen was endless. And yes there is a 3rd row floor mat available to match the front 4 floor mats. I purchased the cargo net, bug deflector, roof top cargo carrier, roof rack, trailer hitch, mud guards, and even a tent that has a sleeve that goes over the rear of vehicle with the tailgate open! Great for camping.

RE: Third row mat
Just to my 2 cents worth. I also purchased the chrome bug shield as well last year, but I had the dealer install it. It was only 30 bucks, but it came out beautiful. No rubbing on the hood or the grill itself. It looks really nice since the deflector is really close to the hood. They really know what they are doing at dealer, at least for this install. Now only if they knew how to take out the headlight casing from the harness, I would be able to add the HIDS or perhaps just some good MTEC lights. If you want to take a look at my ride and the several mods I have made, here is the link: http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2935555

RE: Third row mat
Nice looking ride there Cogna! I havethe same color of Aspen, looks real smartwith a coat of Mothers Pure Carnuba on it!
What do you mean by the harness won't come off of the casing? Do you mean the "plug" on the headlight itself? If so, there is a little red "clip" on the plug, slide this red clip back with a small screw driver, then pull the plug. Hope this is what you mean! he he |
