Want to replace my 20" rims with 18"...

Hi all,

It is my understanding that 18"wheels will allow for greater load tires which help when towing and packing up the truck. I would like to purchase a set of 4 cheapo steel rims for the purpose of trailering and just plain offroading. I just don't care for the low profile tires which fit onto the 20" rims. There are no LT tires that will fit onto 20" rims that I have found which have decent load ratings approaching those of an 18" rim.

Where can I find a set of steel 18" rims to fit the Aspen. Guess I need to know the bolt pattern?

Thanks,
Chris

Try your local junkyard. They may have OEM 18" rims from an Aspen or Durango.

I don't think steel 18" will exist? You can possibly find 17" steel. The spare is 17" steel. A used set of Ram or Durango 17" alloys can be found quite reasonable on CL.

17" rims on an Aspen?

Just wondering if anyone has tried the 17" rims on an Aspen? I'm looking at doing this for winters but not sure if bolt pattern and clearances are there to put 17's on. Please let me know if anyone has tried this and what happened.
Also I'm guessing tpms sensors will have to be installed in the new rims or will the system just not function if no sensors are present? It will probably set an error code and the dash light will stay on??
