Ventilation system problem

Hi,

I wonder if anyone can give me some advise regarding a problem with the ventilation system on a Crossfire Roadster.

When we start the car up from cold the fan surges for perhaps a second then say one second with no fan at all followed by perhaps a 2 second burst and so it continues to a lesser extent before stopping surging altogether. This is also accompanied by a slight squealing noise from under the dashboard.

My initial thoughts are that either:

The main fan is slipping while the motor tries to turn or

Something is wrong with the fan speed controller, this second option could also be tied into the fact that adjusting the fan speed sometimes seems to have no effect until it’s nearly set to maximum.

Has anyone any thoughts or even better still some schematic diagrams and electrical diagrams so I can have a look for myself.

Thanks,
Alan. [sm=feedback.gif]
