@006 pac wouldn't start

While I was driving my car lost all power. I creeped on the shoulder for the last mile home. After I turned off the engine, it would not start. It turns over great. I tryed every 10 minutes for 2 hours. Sounds like no fuel. Not even trying to start, but turns over fine. It has 1100 miles on it. I had it towed to the dealer on saturday, and when they checked it out on monday it started and ran fine. So, I guess I have to wait for it to leave me stranded to maybe find the problem. What do you guys think it could be?

I have it back now, as it didn't act up for the dealer. Maybe the 30 mile tow truck trip shook something to make it work again. They changed the O2 sensor also. I will wait to see if it quits again.

I put a full tank of BP 89 in it yesterday and today it left me stranded. I parked it to pick up my wife, and my two kids and father inlaw were with me. Well, when I came out and tried to start it, it just turns over and sputters sometimes. The mystery continues.

The dealer mechanic came out to where my car is and checked it out. It won't start for them either. He checked fuel pressure, and said it needs a new fuel pump. To be safe he said they will replace both of them. This is no cost to me, except for time. The parts should be in on tuesday. I will keep posting until this is solved.

I hope for your sake, the diag is correct. I do not think it is a fuel pump. Once a fuel pump is running,I have never heard of one dieing. If you turn the engine off and then try to restart then that could be a fuel pump But for a fuel pump to die with the engine running?? I would be looking at the IPM.

The first time it ran rough, then no restart. The second time I turned it off, and then it would not restart. We will see.I will post here until it is fixed in hopes that it may help someone else.

I got the car back today. The dealer replaced both of the fuel pumps. It is running now, which is more than it did before. I will post again after I put some miles on it and see how it does. Kevin.

UPDATE:
I have over 2k miles now and the problem has not come back yet. I think the fuel pumps was the correct fix for my problem.
