'04 Pac AC drain problem
Has someone seen the back of the under dash heat/ac box where it has the drain going thru the firewall ? What does it look like ? Ours got the carpet wet only on that side. Sunroof sealing and drains had been cleaned months ago. Before I pull the carpet up to see, curious as to how the water gets out from that drain. Maybe ours needs some sort of resealing. Anyone done that ? Thanks. *BW*

Look under the hood on the firewall for a short section of hose that comes out of the firewall, turns downward and stops. If you can reach it, massage it with your hand to open up the end. Chances are a bunch of debris (small leaves, dirt, dead bugs) that fell into the cowl area below the windshield will drop out. That's your problem. It's quite common.
To dry the carpet, put a small fan on the floor and let it blow over the rug. It'll dry faster that way although it will eventually dry with normal heater-A/C operation. Faster is better to minimize rust and odors.

The hose is flattened at the end. "Massaging" it should open up the end and allow the gunk inside to fall out, especially if it's dry. Hitting it with compressed air might push the gunk back in there to cause problems later. It could also blow the hose apart or off its connection if it's really plugged. You could probably slip a vacuum cleaner hose loosely over the drain hose to help clean it out if it's stubborn.
There are little cameras nowadays that can look inside a hose like that if you're that curious.
