'07, need new submersible fuel line

Hey guys, I need some quick help.

Friends parents own an 07 pacifica FWD 4.0 that has been sitting for 5+ years. Crank no start but started off of fluid. Pulled the main fuel line and jumped the pump and only got some dribbles. Pump sounded healthy though..anyway, I dropped the tank and the whole modulator assembly was disgusting. The fuel had turned to varnish and disintegrated the filter and rusted other stuff up. Upon removal I noticed that the corrugated fuel line had a crack in it and that is another likely reason fuel wasn't making it to the injectors. It was very brittle and broke easily.

So, question is, what can I use as a fuel line without getting bent over? They are going to scrap the car for $100 but I thought that getting it running and selling it was a better option. They don't want to dump money into it so I'm ordering this pump/modulator assembly.

It's definitely a budget pump but should do the trick. I am wanting to just install some generic fuel line (5/16") rather than buy the corrugated stuff. Even submersible fuel line is near $20 a foot and we're not doing that. All I need is a line that can last 2 years or so in gasoline. Any ideas?
