07 pacifica tail light problem
 

My wife was pulled over and given a warning for a tail light being out. Just wanted to through that in so everyone understands the pressure that is being applied to fix this.... The tail light comes on when the lights are turned on then goes off. The bulb is not burnt out and no other issues with any of the lights on the car so what could cause this? It does the same every time so I don't think there is a short.

is this affecting both tail lights or just one?
