2004 Pacifica A C question

Hi, My A C compressor is making a very loud noise and I was wondering if there is a shorter belt that I can use so I can bypass it for now until I get a chance to replace the compressor.

For sure there's a shorter belt out there somewhere. Take some not-too-stretchy string and tie it around the pulleys you are contemplating using. Make sure it'll run without rubbing anything. Measure the length of the path. Then you'll need to go to the parts store and see if they will hunt down a belt of the correct profile and length. Bring your own tape measure and don't go when they are busy. Might want to bring a box of donuts.

I have the same problem. Has anyone found a bypass belt size?

I have not done so on the PAC. but I have installed bypass pulleys - requires removal of the compressor - on a couple of cars. After market suppliers like Dorman make them for a number of vehicles. Allows use of the original belt and keeps the belt path "normal".
