2007 pacifica alternator wire

ok...i am replacing the alternator. I have it all ready to come out but I am not sure how to remove the wire clip. The black clip with a red thing on top. it looks like it pushes down but it wont. I dont want to break it and I am sure its simple once you know.

"Red clips" on electrical connectors are often locks. Typically they will slide out part way to allow the release to be depressed. Pull on the "fat end".
