Default 4 Speed vs. 6 Speed -- Which to get??

I am brand new to this forum. I have researched and researched the Pacifica. My wife and I are heavily leaning in purchasing one. However, we are torn as to go with the 4 speed or the 6 speed transmission. I know that the 6 speed didn't come out until 2007, but they are a little higher priced than the previous models with the 4 speed. Is there a lot of difference between the two transmissions? Is it worth it to spend more for the 6 speed. Any help before we commit would be most appreciated! Anything else we should look out for?? Thanks in advance!

Sorry. I've read your question, but I do not have enough experience to give you a qualified answer.
If research shows that there are no reliability issues, then I'd go for the 6 speed.

Heck... I hear that Chrysler is coming out with a 9-spd later next year. We've come a long way from the old gm powerglide 2-spd when it comes to automatics.

I drove a 6 speed 2007 model today and it quickly accelerated. I was very pleased with the get up and go. I haven't drove a 4 speed yet. Maybe some others on here can provide some input...

I own a 4-speed, and have driven a few 6-speeds. There's really no comparison in my book -- the 6-speed is definitely worth the upgrade. Look for one that has a complete maintenance history. That will be a great place to start, and will make the higher price well worth it.
