Air conditioning motor
If anyone has any information, send help!!!
My motor is functioning for a short time, but then will kick out. If I tap the motor, it will kick back in and run for as long as I have the engine running. Again, once I shut off and then start the engine... nothing. I’ve tested all the sensors and regulators attached to it and it seems to be more of a motor issue but I cannot figure anything out. |
What year is yours? But from description, sounds like a classic case of a dying interior fan motor(can we say "replacement time"?).
|
Mine is a 2008 AWD Limited. Replacement of entire fan or is there a way to just do that interior part?
|
Are you referring to the fan located underneath the dash behind the glove compartment?
|
Yes the interior HVAC fan. And replacements normally come with the "squirrel cage", original ones tend to break trying to separate from the motor. Have FUN doing the job, I recently did my 04 T&C for same type problem! A little patience and perseverance and a warm indoors work location will save you lots of labor costs as the blower motor is not that expensive a part. You are referring to your interior ventilation system blower fan ... CORRECT?
|
Thank you.
That’s the part! I’ve looked it over in the past and thought I may have had a bad part. When I checked the voltage, a good shock ran it for some time without any issue. I’m guessing it beginning to fail again and you’re reply has been exceptionally helpful!!!

Sounds like you and I tried the same things, just different models of vehicle. Replace that fan motor assembly and you should be "good to go"!
