Broke Inner Tie Rod on 2005 Pac

Well I was turning around in a driveway yesterday and the Inner Tie Rod on my 2005 Pacifica snapped on front driver's side wheel. Passenger side tire was still steering normally, the driver's side wheel flopped around making the car impossible to steer. Guess I was lucky I wasn't tooling along a winding 2 lane road. Anyway called up a wrecker for the 1st time in my Pac's history, $60 later Pac was deposited in my shop. Fix was easy and cheap, $30 for a new inner tie rod.

The ball & socket was seized from corrosion. I have never heard of this happening, Pac never driven in salt, salt water or even that much unduly deep fresh water. My Pac has 330k on the clock and the inner tie rods were changed out by a local shop about 180,000 miles ago; they told me they were using "quality" Moog parts, but who knows. Pics attached, maybe something to keep an eye on in the frozen north where road salt is used frequently.

Wow!!!
Glad you were going slow!
I lost an outer tie rod end at 40mph on a car I had about 20 years ago, and it wasn't pretty.
It almost ripped me off the road!
Glad to hear it was a cheap and easy fix on top of happening at a low speed!
