Dipstick

I have a 2007 Touring Pac with the 4.0L engine. I do a lot of servicing of my vehicles but when it came to checking the transaxle, no dipstick. Just a little cap saying "for dealer use only". I guess all the dipsticks are at Chrysler. I checked with parts at the dealer trying to buy one. Guess what. None available. So, now do I have to pay the dealership just to check the transaxle? Anyone have this experience?

same here on my 04 crossfire there is no need to check trans level unless the trans is leaking

What's wrong with you, don't you know you & I are too stupid to perform such a technically challenged task as that??
Seriously, I would have been happy to pay an extra $10 to have the dipstick included. It gives me a sense of security to know the tranny is full before heading off on a long trip. What I did as a sanity check is I took a heavy duty "zip" tie & with the car warm I inserted it in to bottom, marked the top of the filler tube point on it with a permanent marker showing where the top of the tube was, then removed it & marked the fluid level with both the marker and a small notch. Most dipsticks show from full to 1 qt low in about 1/2 inch so at least I have a way of getting a sanity check.

b4 u get all bend out of shape there is a reason for what was done in order to correctly chk the tranny fluid on a NAG tranny a scanner needs to be used to see the tranny temp and that temp rage has a number that needs to show up on the dip stick that we use at the dealer. SO being said they took out the dip stick because U will have no idea what level it need to be at with out a scanner sorry guys I just fix them I did not build it.

Chrysler Tech,
is there a charge to get your fluid checked or is it a courtesy service?

go have an oil change done and then ask to have the tranny fluid chked also look under the car if U dont see any fluid leaking it does not need to be checked.

Have taken my Pac 4.0 liter in to have the tranny level checked twice, guess what, NO SCANNER! Oh well, some just do not know what they are talking about.

You should probably think about finding a shop that knows what they are doing.

U will need a dealer scanner or one that is not 100 bucks u haft to be able to see tranny temp and then u will need the special dipstick that the dealer has. As i told the other guys go get and OLF at the dealer and have them check the tranny for leaks.

If i dont know what I am talking about I will eat your shorts.
