Default 05' Pacifica cooling fan problems

So first I want to appologize if this has been posted before but I kind of don't have the time to read through tons of posts. I have read some about this problem and it may be helpfull, but here's my problem. So a month ago our cooling fan was randomly turning on after the 20 min. time delay the car is supposed to have. I thought it may have been the battery and replaced it, suprisingly the problem went away untill today. the engine light came on (it didn't before) we took it to auto zone then a mechanic and came to the solid state relay being innoperable. I want to know where it is located, what tool to use to test it with 12v if needed, if its the power module where thats located and if there may be any other advise I may need to do this if we decide to fix it ourselves. Any help will be greatly appreciated!
