Default Cold Air Intake...

I am looking for input on the value (or problems) with replacing the stock Air Box, with a Cold-Air Intake.

Does it provide a performance increase/boost?

Does it harm the engine, or is it as safe as the stock air box?

Are there up and/or down sides to adding it?

Cheers!!

Probably won't hurt, probably won't help much, if at all. Most of these things seem to park the intake right behind the radiator which is probably the worst place to look for "cold" air. I would be very skeptical regarding claims of vastly increased horsepower and fuel economy. Use your own judgment and look at where the stock system draws air vs the modified system and ask yourself is it really going to be colder?
Compare the filter element to the stock element and ask yourself which is bigger? If the modified filter is smaller, then it must be either more restrictive or more porous, neither of which is going to be good.

I just slapped a good ol k&n panel filter in the stock box. That will probably be the best "gain" you get. Plus.... are you street racing your Pacifica??? lol

LOL... No, not racing her, just looking to see if it will provide either better fuel economy (I don't think it will), and/or better performance.

I was also interested to hear from those that already installed a CAI and if made the car run better, the same or worse.

Cheers!!
