One complaint with the Pacifica
After putting about two thousand miles on the 07 Touring Pac.... have one issue that is annoying. Going over rough pavement makes the front suspension feel "lightweight" and the sound of rattles can be heard & felt.
Not really bad ......but enough to make the car seem cheap. Perhaps it's the 65 profile tires that causes the harsh "rattlely" ride but the car does not seem "tight". Anyone else notice thiswith their Pac? |
RE: One complaint with the Pacifica
Mine shows a little of that, I always attributed it to the
Tire pressure (35lb cold) which seems high to me. |
RE: One complaint with the Pacifica
I keep my front tires at around 30 psi. Seems to make the front seem softer.

RE: One complaint with the Pacifica
looks like all year pacs have front end problems had an 04 they changed the lower control arms to correct the rattle

RE: One complaint with the Pacifica
Sarg, I still have the original Michelins on our 2007 Pac and have not noticed any front end noises, even on our Alaska trip when we hit some bad roads. ;)

RE: One complaint with the Pacifica
I have an '07 Pacifica Limited with 35k on it. It had/has front end noises that don't sound normal. The right control arm was replaced under warranty a few thousand miles ago. That helped a lot. It still has more noise going over bumps that I would expect. I have the 19" wheels with Michelin tires. That wheel-tire combination probably adds to the thumpy, noisy ride particularly when the tires are inflated to 35 psi.
I've kept my tires at 35 psi to get all the treadlife out of them possible. Replacement tires areover $200each. The last time I looked Michelin is the only tire available. Is your vehicle under warranty? If it is I'd keep a close check on noises, clunks, etc. I've read that these vehicles have a history of just what you describe. Enjoy your vehicle. It has many fine attributes. |
RE: One complaint with the Pacifica
I've had had the stabilizer bars replaced, the Tie rod ends replaced, and lower control arms replaced, and wheel bearing on left side. I had the tie rods done first ,but was not the problem for the clunk noise took it back for the bulletin on the control arms and the also fixed stabilizer bars, this helped a lot you can still hear thumping when hitting bumps. I will have to live with this and consider it normal. The hard clunking I could not and dealer said it was normal I duplicated it the best I could by hitting bumps at the lot and they fixed what was mentioned. The dealer tried to say the tires were the reason, yes they were bad ,but should not cause clunking this was at 45,807 miles. New tires at 47,000 miles drives a lot better in snow Goodyear Assurance 65,00 miles with free rotation and road hazard total was $719.00 did not like Michelin, the Goodyear tires were 136.00 each. sorry for the long reply maybe this helps

RE: One complaint with the Pacifica
The pacifica has horrible front ends. Expect to spend a lot of money on constant repairs to the front. It is unfortunate that the quality of this car is so poor because in terms of everything else, I can't seem to find a car I like as well as my 04 Pac.

RE: One complaint with the Pacifica
yes the front end is horrible but it is safe just put in a cd an turn up the volume an enjoy the car
