Pacifica from hell please help.

Hey guys I am burnt out on this car. Nothing but problems coming left and right. Here are the codes its spitting out now. I have had to do the timing belt, fuel pumps and brakes so far. I am exhausted.

P0420 Bank 1 Cat
P0702 Check shifter signal ( Car shifts fine but the dash has all blocks on all positions when in park and neutral. When in D all blocks go away. Autostick works fine but when I shift to D it stays in auto stick)

I put my bidirectional scanner on the car and found Bank 1 02 sensor at 0v. Bank 2 is at 3v plus. I can also smell some fuel when the car is running.
She drives great but sputters on the road when I let off the gas or try to keep a constant speed without accelerating. Is Bank 1 02 sensor suppose to be at 0vs?

From the info posted, start out checking the ground connections from battery to body and motor(CLEAN and tight). How old is the battery and have a load test for CA/CCA available(NOT just a volt test) for the P0702. The P0420 is not good reads at all on the sensors, could be a number of things that COULD include the NVLD, but proper diagnostics NEED to be followed instead of hopping around looking for a plug and play fix(gets EXPENSIVE doing that).

which grounds are you talking about? Is there a particular location ? The battery is brand new along with the leak detection pump. checked output voltage of alternator to be at 14v. I am wondering if the tranny PCM is having issues. Getting all sorts of tranny codes but the suv shifts fine through all gears. I am also going to pull the 02 sensor and check resistance. do you know what they are suppose to read? thank REBEL59 for the help.

Follow the Negative cable from the battery to connections at the body and motor, CLEAN them, as with age they like to corrode and cause lots of electrical issues.

Hey Rebel,

Here are the plots from the two 02 sensors after a short drive. Not sure the second 02 sensor should be that rich? gas mileage is super poor right now. The car still has the P0420 code and she is bucking when on the road trying to maintain speed. It does buck under load . Also the transmission is spitting out a P0706. Same issue as above. When in park and nuetral the dash aluminates squares on all shift positions. Car otherwise shifts find without any issues.

I would work a little backwards about the sensors for the O2. It is obviously running TOO rich and the sensors are reading accordingly(means they are working). Possible stuck open injector or two on that bank OR even trouble from bank 1 being too lean. Check the injector harness and you may have to do some disassembly to track down a manual type fault (pull spark plugs, check for manifold air leaks). Good luck!

Okay I thought maybe this would prove that the catalytic converter was bad? I agree the sensors look like there working. I will just replace the plugs and check from manifold leaks. Do you know anything about the P0706 code? I would hate to change out the transmission range sensor. Looks to be a lot of work removing the valve body to get to it.

Would a stuck open injector throw a code? Do you guys know what the resistance would be on each injector?

Is the 1/1 O2 sensor a Bosch ? Bosch O2 sensors DO NOT Work in Chrysler Products. NTK or NGK (OEM) are the only ones that work.
Try swapping side to side see if the issue follows the sensor.
