OK- as per my other treads I can't start the wifes 04 PAC automatic

I noticed that the gears selector digital display indicator shows a box around all the possible options... IE., Park, neutral, reverse

I know normally it shows a box around just the one you have selected. Not sure though when the car is not running?

Is this an indicator of something???

any codes? could possibly be trans contoller.try disconnecting battery,2 mins and reinstall.

i have the same problem on 04 pac awd
but
i can start car

all boxes illuminated PRND
when shifter in R or D, evrythings fine.
also autostick works strange. i have to kick it hard to switch gears up(right). down(left) is ok

today i disconnected battery.
everything was fine until shifter hits N. all boxes illuminated again...

It needed a new starter and the replaced and rubber coated the wires in the wheels well to the computer, they got curroded
