RE: remote start
You can either cut the horn wire from the remote start module by removing the lower column cover, its tapped into the horn wirein the white connector below the clockspring. The wire is green with purple tracer, or try changing the horn duration output, if interested in doing this let me know.

RE: remote start
I forgot to mention I install these at the dealer I work at, if the vehicle is a Pacifica I also have a solution to have only the parking lights on while running (HID Headlights flashing when starting = not good)

RE: remote start
Ya I need your help, what does changing the horn duration due? And what would be the easest way to fix it?
|
RE: remote start
The easiest way to eliminate the horn would be to cut the horn wire from the remote start module to the horn wire on the steering column, it should be located under the column covers. Changing the horn duration will not take care of it i tried it on my friends vehicle. The horn duration is the length of time the autostart module outputs the signal to the specified horn wire, the choices are long or short duration.

RE: remote start
I'd love to hear your other ideas on how to have only the parking lights on while running. I'm about to install one of the OEMs in my Pacifica and any tips/tricks you've got would be welcome.

RE: remote start
Thanks a lot I think I will cut the wire in the steering column over the weekend... Again what color is the wire that I should be cutting?

RE: remote start
Turbod
That worked great cutting the wire.. Just make sure you cut the right wire!! I had 2 wires under the steering column that where purple with a green tracer ( cut the wrong one first) |
RE: remote start
Yeah DK you need to make sure you cut the wire that taps into the factory harness not the wire in the harness! :)

RE: remote start
Well watt what you need to do is run up to radio shack and get a 1K ohm 1watt resistor connect that to the wire that is supposed to tap into the wire at the headlight switch. Then connect the other end of the resistor to the headlight wire at the switch. Now you will only have parking lights when using the autostart! A couple tips on installing these, make sure all connections are soldered, prewrap the wires with electrical tape that run through the firewall, just makes for a nicer install. If you have any other questions let me know.
