Spare tire size choices

Hi folks. So it turns out that the Pacifica I bought in March lacks a spare tire! What size tires can I put back there under the car? Can I go full-size, or does it have to be small?

Thanks,
Nate

Our 04 Pacifica has a full size steel wheel with the stock 235/65/17 tire so i'm sure it will also fit under yours.

You don't say what year Pac you bought. As the gentelman with the '04 said a full size may work on an older Pac. I have an '07 Touring and a full size spare will not fit. I wanted to get rid of the "pretend tire" and slip a full size in the carrier. I bought a full size wheel and tire for our recent trip to Alaska and took it to a tire dealer and they could not get it to fit, mainly because of the dual exhaust on the '07. I wound up putting the full size spare inside for the trip. [:-]

Will it fit on an '06?Full size sparewas listed as an option then, And it still has the single exhaust.

SDHUSKER: I remember suggesting you deflate the regular tire before you left. How was the trip? How did the PAC do on mpg and do you have the awd? How did the tires you have do on the roads.Do you have the OE tires? Hope the trip went good.

Thanks for asking Farout. The trip was fantastic. We logged 7,976 miles. Mileage averaged 23 for the trip. The computer showed 28 mpg many times when we were traveling Canada with it's lower speed limits. The Michelins that are original equipment performed flawlessly. No need for a spare at all. In fact we were amazed at the excellent condition of the roads. Yes, there were places with frost heaves and some construction areas but both the Cassier highway and the Alaska highway are in much better condition than the stories you hear about them. Our Pac is an '07 touring front wheel drive. :)
