Thump in the Rear end
I have a 2004 Pacific FWD with 80K on the clock. This is really the only problem I have had since the security computer went out with less the 10K on it.
Recently I started hearing a thumping sound in the rear when driving over bumps in a parking lot or an on ramp to the highway. My first thought was the spare tire since it was a little loose, but I tightened it up and it is still there. I know a lot of people have had problems with sound in the front but this is in the rear. Any Ideas? |

Also, a bearing might be the problem. Does it make sound when the wheel turns?

RE: Thump in the Rear end
No it is not in when turning just when going slowish and hitting bumps, like is a parking lot.
I'm digging into it this weekend and report what I find. I was just looking for a starting point if someone else ran into this. |
RE: Thump in the Rear end
Just to let you know, one of the rear shock mounts is out and needs replaced. The Shock seems to be bad as well, so I thought I'd just replace both rear shocks. Has anyone checked the price of the rear shocks for these things. $350.00, WTF. What is so wonderful with these shocks to cost that much. I can get coil over off road shocks for less.
