thumping noise from sunroof
 

hey guys, anyone have a problem when they open there sunroof and a head pounding reverberation or thuming noise starts until another window is rolled down, the sevice manager tells me its the position of my roof racks , but have tried every slot and no luck. thanks fred

It's a known problem. Don't open it all the way. If you hit the button "quickly" (a 1 second hit) then let go, it will open automatically to about 3/4 way and you won't get the reverb. Chrysler built that in. At least that's how it is on my '07

My 2006 Pacificia & My wife's RAV4 both do it. I put a wind deflector on the front of moon roof and it reduced the noise to a brief rumble at around 15-20 MPH.

I installed the wind shades on the windows and this has helped dramatically if you open the windows a bit when the roof is open. I'm sure the combination of the wind shades and sunroof wind deflector would be the best remedy available.
