Ticking noise!
I have been struggling for the last few days to figure out the problem with my 2004 Chrysler Pacifica and I came to realize that I have tried everything! Hopefully someone can see something I didn't. I have been getting all kind of codes and I managed to finally narrow it down to one. Cylinder 2 misfire (With intake manifold/engine ticking noises) I took the intake out and changed the spark plug and the coil thinking that it is one of the problems. When i put everything back together now I am getting more codes than before.
1) P0123 Throttle / Pedal Position Sensor With A circuit High 2) P0108 Manifold Absolute Pressure / Barometric Pressure Circuit High 3) P0508 Idle Air Control System Circuit Low 4) P0302 Cylinder 2 Misfire Detected. Over the past 8 months I changed the followings: All 6 fuel injectors. New air sensor New selnoid All 6 spark plugs and brand new coils New PCV valve New Battery Changed all fluids Changed Catalytic converted Any ideas on why my engine Idles (mostly when on Drive, less when on Park), make rattle (Gargling ) sound when I push gas (Attached is a video), loss of power. Thank you! Here is a link to the gargling sound (Not the ticking sound) I am not sure if they are at all related. Thank you: https://drive.google.com/open?id=1Bx...nZQjioGZkJnUiz Veronica |
Bad rocker arm on #2 , will cause a misfire if worn bad enough. Not sure on the 3.5 motor, but you may need to change the whole rocker/shaft assembly. Only way to know for sure is to get to and remove the valve cover for that side for inspection.

My suggestion is to get at least a Haynes manual for your vehicle that will give you directions for R&R of the rocker shaft unit. Pics can be deceiving, but looks like some angled misalignment on a few of the rockers. I don't have a lot of experience with the 3.5 motor to give you any detailed instructions. BUT once you do get it fixed and back together...try changing your motor oil a bit more often. That is some hefty "varnishing of the valve train parts! And make sure you check oil levels often as they are known oil consuming motors.
