Timing belt change in 2008 4.0l
Hi all Members. Many regards from Poland.
Two month ago I bought a Pacifica 2008 with 4AWD and 4.0l. Car had about 65.000km. After reading about service maintance I was read the first change of timing belt (and all what You must to change with timing belt...) come after 150 000 km - the guy from Chrysler auth. dealer in Poland laught me out - He sad ... let Your car go until 150.000 km without timimg belt change... we see when You come to us to buy a new engine... He sad the timing belt MUST be replaced between 70.000 - 90.000 km. It's true or not. When he laid me my next step eill be to write direct to Chrysler and describe that (not first - I have Vision and LHS) mess. Please help me out :) |
what ever the owners manuals says is when u change it they guy laughing was not the one that designed the car.

Thanks for quick answer....
So thats look like polish authorised service try to fool chrysler users. Timing belt change its in service quite expencive (from 1000-2000 USD depend of chrysler model). So let say they sold 1000 Pacifica 4.0l cars , all of them wanna keep garantie so all of them come to service after 80.000km to replace timing belt - (I dont think service people really replacing parts and timming belt - cause they know they need'nt do it!!!) but they give you an invoice to pay 1000USD 1000cars x 1000USD make 1.000.000 USD for imaginary repairs wich normally car user cannot prove they was make or they wasn't!!! So looks polish chrysler dealer natwork!!!! I try to interested Chrylser. Whay do You think About it... |
