Toughest car I've ever had to keep clean

In the Northeast the roads tend to be covered with the salt, sand and crap most of the time. The Pac profile seems to draw the dirt .... especially on the tailgate. You can't drive a mile without the filth splashing up and over the back.

And it appears the rear wiper is more for looks than effective wiping. I've changed the blade with three different styles and have come to the conclusion that the rear glass must not be of the smooth enough configuration. The outer two or three inches of the wiper just doesn't make contact.

I placed my rear wiper last month with NAPA winter wiper blade. It does an amazing job on the rear hatch glass.

I don't believe my problem is with the wipers any more. Either the arm tension is weak or the glass is other than flat.

I had the same problem with the actual rubber being too tight in the arm. I eased some of the clips and it let the blade flex more. I also made sure the blade was not held in place at both ends and that also allowed it to move more.

The profile has nothing to do with the amount of grim that get on the back. Look at any vehicle and they are dirty especially at highway speed. You do understand what wind does behind a vehicle. The taller, wider, flatter back ie: suv, mini vans, full size vans the swirl behind increases.

It's no way the shape of the glass. It's either the blade assembly or not enough tension. I go with the blade. Mine rear wiper works great and we've had our share of sand grime in the Pacific NW.

I have a 2007 Pac which we took to Alaska last summer. Talk about crap on the back. Up there some of the stuff is very fine glacier dust. The rear wiper worked fine but I had to replace it when we got home.
