Transmission fluid change

I called the dealership today to see what they charge to check the transmission fluid. As you know, there is not a dipstick for the 6 speed in the '07, it has to be checked at the dealership. Well, no charge to check it. Said if it's not leaking it does not need checking, BUT, since there is now 30,000 on our '07 2 wheel drive Pac we should have it changed for a fee of $180. I reminded them that according to schedule B the manual says 60,000 miles. They insisted they recommend 30,000. Are they right or just hard up for money?

Schedule B IS for towing which says 60000. Don't let them tell you otherwise. My daughter has an '06 Acura and they told her it needed trans fluid change at 30000 AND a brake fluid flush and if she didn't do it and something failed they wouldn't fix it under warranty. I called and spoke to the mechanic and he told me the same thing. Well I told him he was full of sh** and that as long as we do what is recommended in the owners manual that anything WILL be fixed under warranty. I also said I would call back & speak to the service manager which I never got time to do. A few months later she took it in for an oil change and they treated her like royalty and did a few things free of charge & never said anything about the tranny fluid change or brake flush again. I caught them trying to scam a young girl & they knew it. So yes, follow the schedule that best fits your driving & if they keep trying to tell you it needs it at 30000 tell them you are going to call Chrysler corporate & find out why it's says 60000 in the owners manual.
