Transmission shudder 2007 4.0 / 6sp
Have a 2007 Pacifica Limited with 4.0 and 6sp AT. The transmission has a noticeable shudder to it after it upshifts into 5th (or possibly 6th gear). It's when you get near cruising speed (40-50mph) at light throttle, it makes an upshift 5th or 6th-- that's when I notice the shudder. Getting off the throttle, or stabbing the throttle so that it kicks down into a lower gear makes it go away.
I just did the transmission filter and fluid drain & fill recently, but this problem had occurred before this. I read something about there being a TSB and perhaps a recall related to this problem on early 2007 models. Mine is a summer 2006 build. Is there any way to conform that the TSB and related work has been performed? I believe it calls for torque converter replacement. I would sure be nice to know if this has been done. If it hasn't been done, is Chrysler still honoring this "recall" or providing a discount of some sort? I doubt it due to the vehicle's age, but figured I'd ask. |
