Vibration in brake pedal and steering wheel
I have about 5100 miles on my 06 Pacifica. I'm experiencing vibration in the brake pedal and steering wheel when I apply the brakes, worse the faster you are going. I think it might be the rotors; what does everyone else think? I was told they can machine the rotors, and it is included under the warranty, but new rotors will cost me. Can you verify? Thank you

RE: Vibration in brake pedal and steering wheel
Brake vibration caused by the rotors is covered for 1 year/20,000km[12,000 miles] At least in canada. At my dealership we will replace the rotors if under 1 year and 20,000km.

turn rotors and replace the pads normal at 30k

It shouldn't be worn brakes with that little mileage. I would say it could be warped rotors from over tightening the rims or a problem with the ABS sensors.
If I'm not mistaken I remember an owner having a similar issue and it was a faulty ABS sensor. Have it checked out by the dealer. Good luck! |
RE: Vibration in brake pedal and steering wheel
Well I have an appointment on Friday mourning, I will let you know what they find out. They are also fixing a recall that concerns a PCM/fuel issue. Thank you

RE: Vibration in brake pedal and steering wheel
Well back from the dealer, and as I suspected my rotors were warped. They machined both front ends, and the brakes are very smooth with no vibrations now. Glad thats all it was. Thanks everyone!
