Question What the heck is it?!?!

I just bought a used 2004 Chrysler Pacifica and it didn't come with an owner's manual. I ordered one but it hasn't come in yet, and I am trying to figure out all the features.

On the A/C controls (above the radio), right in the center, there is a indentation with a tiny little mirror. It looks like it could be some type of input but it won't slide open. What the heck is it??? Can anyone please tell me??

Here is the link to download the book but I'll fill you in:

If you have dual zone temperature up front, its a small infrared laser that scans the air to make sure the the "dual" zone temps are correct. If one becomes too hot/cold or overtaking the temp zone beside you, its tells the computer to adjust the temps accordingly.

and the link:
My Chrysler: Chrysler Owners Service Manuals - Chrysler Cars, Minivans, SUVs, Convertibles, Crossovers

then chose year and model.
