6-disc changer quit working
My 6-disc changer in a 2004 PT Cruiser died and I can't figure out how to get my CDs out. Any suggestions?

C'mon guys. No one can help me out?! It is a stock PT Cruiser (2004) in-dash 6-disc CD changer. I want my CDs back! :)

Have you tried a hammer? Sorry for the lame attempt at humor but my Sebring shop manual doesn't cover disassembly or repair of the CD changer. It just says "replace the unit" if it won't eject CD's. I would expect the same treatment in the PT Cruiser manual. That's rather typical, that the vehicle manufacturer services a component like a CD changer on a remove-and-replace basis only.
Most dealerships are in touch with a local facility that has some knowledge of the inner workings of audio components. You might mosey over to your nearest Chrysler dealer and have a heart-to-heart with the service people and see if they will refer you to their source. Good luck. |
once the power is lost to the player is pretty much send it out for repairs ,and ask to have your cds returned.or remove the changer and take it apart your self.good luck with that!

Search for emergency eject system. It can be done by that only. |
