Alloy wheel question...

I'm looking to replace an alloy wheel on my wife's 2004 PT Cruiser. (hit a curb :()

It's on a 16" x 6", 7-spoke alloy wheel right now, and all info says that this rim was used on both the '03 and '04 models.

I see an ad on Craigslist for a brand new 2005 PT Cruiser wheel... alloy, 7-spoke. Looks exactly like the one I'm replacing.

Are these wheels compatible? Can I use an '05 rim on this '04 car?

Help!?

Thanks!

I don't know the answer to your question, but try going to chryslerparts.net and looking the part up in the parts catalogs there. If the number is the same then the part is the same. As a general statement, no manufacturer would re-engineer a part and then make it look "exactly the same", so chances are that if it looks the same, it is the same. Worse comes to worst, if you buy it and it's not right, turn around and sell it.

Thanks for the advice.

My wife actually found one at a local junkyard that was from the same year, so the problem is kinda moot now.

Thanks much regardless!
