Choosing a new Battery for my PT Cruiser

First off, can anyone tell me the proper battery my 2001 PT Cruiser LE NA needs?

I have done a few searches looking for info on choosing a new battery for the Cruiser, but have found none. Are there options for batteries? I mean was there more than one size ever installed in them? I am assuming that all have the same battery tray etc., but if not please let me know.

Would it benefit me to put in an AGM battery?

Anything you can tell me will be much appreciated.

EDIT: I found this on Autozone:
Duralast Battery 26R-DL Group Size 26R 575 CCA

It has a two year warranty and is $149.

Thanks.

Check / call Costco. They sell Interstate brand batteries for a fair price w/ 3 or 4 year warranty. I assume you are replacing it yourself.

The most significant issue you have is the 26R designation. There are few options available to get much over 540-575 CCA rating and none in what is considered the premium/gold category that would offer a longer full replacement warranty. A 2 year warranty is about standard for a 26R.

NAPA Legend batteries, made by EastPenn, also seem have a good reputation for durability and reliability.

Thanks for the info. At the moment I do not have a Costco membership, just a Sam's.

I kind of figured that, but thought I would ask here in case I was wrong. On another of my vehicles, I was able to upgrade to the diesel battery, which was a significant improvement.
