Coolant Bleeder O.D. is Stripped
I just replaced my radiator, fan, and thermostat on a '01 PT Cruiser, 2.4L, automatic transmission, and I cannot open the coolant bleeder because the O.D. is stripped and stuck. I don't want to have to take the radiator back out, but I cannot get the bleeder to break free because I have no leverage. The space is too small for a typical pipe wrench or pair of vice grips. I used PB Blaster and 5" vice grips without budging it. I appreciate your help.

Fill the system as much as you can. The air will tend to work its way our over several warm-up and cool-down cycles. Top up the system every couple of days until the air is out. Be very careful with pipe wrenches and vice grips. Those parts are delicate and not made for that kind of force. You're not dealing with cast iron pipe there.

Thanks for the advice. I just didn't know that would work. I have heard you had to use the bleeder valve or else there would be overheating.
