Engine light on after removing fuse, starting engine and then turning engine off
So I was being just doing random stuff with my cruiser and I removed the F12 fuse and accidentally started it without it briefly. I immediately turn the engine off and then replace the fuse but the check engine light is now on. Is this some kind of damage I did by quickly starting it without the fuse in? Or is it just a computer issue that I reset something in the computer? Will it go away if I put it through some paces?
thank you!
So, drove it around with the check engine light on. It handled like a dream, no other warnings at all or unusual gauges (3 small extra dings at start up which seemed to be associated with the light is all). Was going to bring it in to a shop today, payday. Then after lunch, I went to start it up and the lights came on for instant... then nothing. Dead. No lights, not even trying to turn over when I turn the key. I suspect the computer did some kind of automatic cutout? Anyone have any ideas for resetting the computer? Since I was mucking with fuses when the light came on, could a bad fuse do this? Please any assistance, I'm stuck:/

Hi Alex, thanks for the response! It's a 2001 4 door.
I dropped it off at a shop last night and they identified a short in the wiring as the cause, which does make some logical sense. They quoted 235. Does this seem re amenable to repair a short? It sounds high for labor and no parts involved.
