Default 2002 PT Defrost

I have an 02 PT Cruiser.

The Defrost WILL NOT stay in the Defrost position. If I manually hold it in the defrost position nothing comes out of the vents. If I let go of the switch is rotates counter clockwise by itself. all other positions work just fine, but no good to me in -30 weather I have NO Defrost.

Anyone know what's up?

I talked to a Chrysler dealer about this and they informed me that it would be a minimum of 5 hours labor to fix this!

Time to trade it in and buy an import - No wonder US automakers are going under.

I've had it!

i would think it be some blend door problem. and yes it probably will take that long to pull the dash out if needed.
