Look at buying 2001 PT Cruiser

Looking at buying a 2001 PT cruiser with broken timing belt. Will it have piston or valve damage? Have 2004 sebring (2.4)and timing broke on me last year changed belt and all was fine.

these motors are interference motors with means when belt breaks valves collide with pistons and bend so yes you will have an issue. I don't care if it was at idle or 5000 rpm there will be damage

Replaced Belt on the Sebring in May of 2017 and have put over 20000 miles on it since. And the PT is running fine. No miss, runs like it should. Pretty sure these engines are noninterference.
