Need help

I bought 05 pt cruiser has 2.4 engine with 5 speed standard drove good dang good on gas on the second day drove the car 90 miles to check on a car i was thinking about buying for her turn out to be lemon motor was shot didnt buy her no car that day so I started driving back home made it 30 mile away from persons place i left from I just lost power to the car pulled over safely looked under the hood timing belt broke call a tow truck tow it to my mechanic shop it turn out to be my water pump seized up and broke the timing belt and lost compression in two cylinder he managed to fix my car so paid the him and pick up my car from him i got in the car left the shop and start heading my way to work to be delivering food to customers for 4 hours delivery service with doordash. After i delivery my second food delivery made it 3 miles away and the car just dies wouldn't start back up just cranks over so i stop cranking and turn the key off and sit in the car to wait after sitting couple of minutes figure i would try start the car again the car started right up the engine ran good and the car drove good when back to work pull over at mcds waiting on a food delivery to deliver while waiting for couple of minutes the car dies again while just sitting there waiting for a delivery. At this point i got mad about the car dying on me after claiming down and started to think what i could so i open my hood of my car to check my relays and fuses noticed my asd relay be hot to the touch so I switch the asd relay and the horn relay with each other to see if it would help i closed my hood got back in the car and started the car up and the car starts right up engine run good and the car drove good again while i was in middle of food delivery i pull up to my customer house parked my car and left the engine running got out and i went to delivered the food at customer door. After dropping food off i walked back to my car started backing out customer driveway i got back on road drove couple miles then the engine just dies again i got out walk over open the hood again to check on the asd relay it was hot again luckily my shift was over I call my mechanic to tow my car back to his shop and see why the car keeps want to die the car still in the shop still been 1year 3 months my mechanic can't figure out why it been dieing on me. My mechanic put a new fuel pump and fuel tank in the car changed all the sensors now some reason the car won't start up now just cranks over. So can anyone help me figure what wrong with my 05 chrysler pt cruiser touring edition I would like to drive it again and it been at my mechanic shop to long

Please forgive if this sounds harsh, but it is time to find another mechanic. After firing the parts cannon they do not seem to want to work on your vehicle based on the time they have had it.

HOT asd relay is likely a bad ground which some need to come off to take the head off so look for the engine grounds on the block

Man, that sounds frustrating! I had a PT Cruiser years ago that was kind of a headache too, but nothing like this. It’s wild your mechanic hasn’t figured it out after all that time. I was stuck in a similar situation with a different car, and after my mechanic couldn’t fix it locally, I decided to learn how to ship a car across country to a buddy who’s a whiz with engines. Found a service that made it pretty painless and way easier than trying to road trip a broken car. You might want to look into that if your guy still can’t get it running.
